Moments from 2021

What a wild ride 2021 has been! There have been lots of ups and downs, but I am so thankful that we saw major improvements over 2020. Being able to be vaccinated during spring 2021 was a HUGE relief and definitely enabled our couples to continue with their long anticipated celebrations. Thank you science!

A major theme that I noticed this year was gratitude, and it was genuine. Gratitude for family and friends being able to gather and celebrate both planned and re-planned celebrations.

A year of weddings and sessions brings thousands and thousands of images and it’s just impossible to choose a small enough number encompassing my “favorites” to fit into a single blog post. So this year I decided to focus on some of my favorite candid moments from the past year. Most of these images I’ve chosen to showcase in black and white, as that always seems to have a stronger emotional impact. One of the main reasons I am a Nikon loyalist is because I feel their cameras and lenses offer superior color capture, but this seems like a moment to put that aside and let the beauty of black and white photography shine through. Not an easy thing for a type-A Virgo to do… so I am considering this my end of year challenge LOL.

Please enjoy a look back at some of my favorite moments from 2021, starting with the very first moment of the year. This is by no means an exhaustive list of course, just what I managed to put together in a reasonable amount of time. Wishing everyone health and happiness in 2022!
