I always love when our couples choose a sentimental spot for their engagement session. Kate + Brian spent a lot of time in Forest Park during grad school and not only had their first date at The Scottish Arms, but also got engaged there! Incorporating both locations was a no-brainer for them.

Kate and Brian no longer live in St. Louis, but are excited to celebrate their wedding day here this February. They flew in for their engagement session and we encountered some, shall we say, temperamental weather. Luckily they were up for an adventure – I grabbed my trusty rain boots and umbrellas and headed out to Forest Park. The rain ended up bringing out the most lovely colors in all of the flowers and we had temperatures in the high 70s! A dream and unheard of in late July! What first looked like a possible challenge in the forecast ended up creating an oh so beautiful backdrop for their session. 

We reveled in the cooler temperatures and it was such a blast to spend more time with Kate and Brian. They really are a perfect match and their excitement about marrying one another put the biggest smile on my face! Give me an adorable couple in love to photograph, and I am in heaven! 

The Scottish Arms was our last stop, and before they enjoyed a romantic dinner together, we had the opportunity to do a few shots inside with them. Choosing my favorites from their session was quite a challenge, but I am happy to share some highlights from our time together! Kate and Brian’s big day in February can not come soon enough 🙂
