Emily + Brian: St. Luke the Evangelist Wedding and Lumen Reception

Emily + Brian are two people that you can not help but instantly love. From Emily’s adorable nose crinkle as she smiles and laughs, to Brian’s easygoing and kind demeanor – they are a natural fit. There was so much to love about their wedding day. They planned a very intentional day centered around their faith and those closest to them. Emily’s sister did everyones’ makeup in the morning as they got ready at their home and then we headed just down the street to their church, St. Luke the Evangelist. During their ceremony Father Blake spoke about the already solid foundation that Emily + Brian had built for their marriage, and how they always met the challenges of life together. It was a beautiful ceremony with many smiles and happy tears all around.

We were fortunate enough to have a gorgeous winter day with lovely golden light – perfect for our photos between the ceremony and reception! Despite the wonderful light, it was still a bit cold and Emily and her bridesmaids were excellent sports during the time we were outside. After gently reminding everyone to unclench themselves for group photos, we were in good shape! Emily’s dress was so stunning and I could not get over all of the detail on the back. Her dress perfectly complemented her jeweled headband and she looked as if she had stepped from the pages of a bridal magazine. Brian couldn’t take his eyes off her either 🙂 After our time in Forest Park, we made a quick stop at the STL Contemporary Art Museum, where Brian had proposed, for a few last photos before arriving at Lumen.

Lumen was a welcome shelter from the quickly dropping temperatures, and the ideal setting for Emily + Brian’s reception! The simple and modern color palette that they chose for the table settings complimented the welcoming space, while their sweetheart cake was a great splash of color. In addition to adorable popcorn favors, they also had a dessert table filled with many types of cupcakes and gooey butter cake for guests to enjoy! 23 City Blocks did a phenomenal job providing everyone with delicious and artfully presented appetizers and entrees. Emily + Brian enjoyed the rest of the evening celebrating with friends and family – we enjoyed photographing their fun!

A big thank you to all our fellow vendors that made Emily + Brian’s wedding day a picture perfect success! We are so grateful that we had the opportunity to work with them and tell their wedding story through our photos. Please enjoy a closer look at their winter wedding!
